Veteran bluesman Sam taylor was scheduled to perform at LAM' DU BLUES 2007  in the small town of Lamanon in the South of France when he became ill and was unable to attend. Determined to find a last minute  replacement the organizer Vincent Bertome (Mr V) puts in a call to Georges Lemaire in Belgium who suggests Wes Mackey.

Mackey cancelled his Vancouver gigs and took off on what he sees as a big adventure and after an unfortunate breakdown of the pick up vehicle from the airport Wes is forced to push the car into town.

But he is taken by the hospitality , generosity and spirit of the music loving town. ...all of whom wore shades  in what has become known as  the  "MYSTERY OF the NOIRES"

After his experience Wes writes the song "Full Moon in Lamanon"  and releases a special limited edition CD with a variety of songs from previous projects. The lyrics and the pictorial essay below pretty much tell the story! Wes is scheduled to arrive in Lamanon for a special performance at this years festival  July 11 where he will a be picked up in a limousine courtesy of Mayor Roland Darrues. He will also receive a special medal and a presentation from the Olive Oil producers of the area  . Visit again to see the ceremony on a new version of the video. Thank you Everyone!
